GET TO KNOW PA'TRICE FRAZIER
Certified Master Welder and Educator
Described as “a firecracker,” Pa’Trice tells it like it is. Drawing on her upbringing and transition from ballerina to welder as a backdrop, her engaging story inspires, motivates and captivates audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
In 2020, Pa’Trice was recognized by the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News as the first Black Female Weld Instructor in the Philadelphia region.
After attending Cumberland County Technical Education Center on scholarship in 2010 and earning her American Welding Society (AWS) certification, she worked continuously on various welding projects, earning the designation of Master TIG Welder a decade later.
In 2020, her achievements and her “firsts” were publicly recognized by the media, as she marked her place in history as one of the few black female master welders in the country. Throughout her career she has been employed by many companies as their first black woman welder.
Pa’Trice’s passion "to burn" motivated her to become a teacher and speaker with the intention of teaching welding to others to fill the gap of 150,000 welders needed today. She taught welding classes in Philadelphia and saw her first group of students graduate in 2019. She speaks to groups and holds seminars regularly, and in 2020, she launched the Weld Jointed Academy, which will prepare students to become AWS certified (temporarily suspended during COVID-19)
